Terms of use

Who can use the app

The app is for students with an eligible university email at a campus we have opened. Keep control of your sign-in link and account. Do not use another person’s email or misrepresent your university. Vibe is for people aged 18 or over. Email verification confirms control of an eligible address; it does not establish identity or guarantee student status beyond that address.

Your content and conduct

You are responsible for your own conduct, content you post, messages you send, and the accuracy of your profile, events, housing details, and opportunities. You must follow applicable law and respect other people’s rights. You keep ownership of your content and give dormy.in permission to store, display, and process it as needed to operate the service according to your chosen visibility settings. Your public profile shows your profile details, posts, and visible campus Buzz to anyone, and may be found in our student directory or search engines. Anonymous Buzz authors stay hidden. Interacting and accessing other campus features requires eligible student access.

Do not use the service for threats, harassment, stalking, fraud, impersonation, illegal transactions, or to plan or encourage unlawful activity. Do not share another person’s private information or intimate images without permission, exploit or endanger a minor, post child sexual abuse material, or upload pornography or other explicit sexual content. Do not post unlawful or misleading material, infringe someone else’s rights, spam, or try to bypass campus access controls. These rules apply to posts, replies, Buzz, community spaces, profiles, uploads, and messages.

Reports and moderation

You can report a campus post or reply using its Report option. For messages, community activity, or other safety concerns, use our safety reporting instructions or email theunidotsocial@gmail.com with enough detail for us to find the issue. Campus leads may review reports from their campus, and the site founder who handles reports may review them where needed. Community owners and moderators can manage content and members in their own communities. We may remove content, limit access, or take other appropriate action when we become aware of a breach or a safety concern. We may also respond to valid legal requests as required by law. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Reports and moderation help us respond to problems; they do not mean we review every post or private conversation before it appears or can prevent every harmful act. Do not make knowingly false reports.

Campus activities and third parties

Events, flatmate matches, opportunities, and community posts may be created by students or third parties. Check the organiser, person, property, price, availability, deadlines, and links yourself before attending, applying, paying, or sharing sensitive information. Users act independently when they message, meet, trade, or make plans with each other. dormy.in, its founders, and campus leads are not parties to arrangements between users merely because those users met through the service. A university named on the site does not necessarily own, sponsor, or endorse it.

Community channels

Community chat is for members. Owners and moderators may send announcements; all members can use the general chat. Use voice rooms respectfully, get consent before recording someone with your own tools, and leave if you do not want your microphone active. Voice connections may not work on every network. Community owners are responsible for the groups they create, including their names and announcements.

Optional tools

Connecting Blackboard uses a private calendar subscription link that you supply. Keep that link private and disconnect it when you no longer want the app to import dates. Tokenmaxxing is optional; its scores come from local tool logs and are self-reported, so rankings may be incomplete or inaccurate. You can disconnect a device in the app.

Service changes and rights

Features may change or become unavailable while we improve the service. We aim to keep it available and secure but cannot promise uninterrupted access. To the extent permitted by law, dormy.in and its founders are not responsible for independent unlawful acts of users, the accuracy of user content, or losses arising from arrangements made directly between users. This does not excuse our own conduct or remove any duty, liability, right, or remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. Our privacy policy explains how information is handled.

Contact and updates

For questions about these terms, email theunidotsocial@gmail.com. We may update these terms and will show the new date on this page. Material changes will be brought to users’ attention in the app or by email when appropriate.
